Nollywood Is Bland And Mediocre” – Genevieve Nnaji blasts

I know you have been wondering why one of Africa's finest actress Genevieve Nnaji has not been featuring in Nollywood movies lately. Well, the beautiful actress has finally spilled the reason. The delectable Genny, as she is fondly called by her fans, say that she cannot come back into an industry characterized by mediocre who churn out bland, dull, uninteresting, predictable and unexciting movies every other time. Genevieve has taken her art to an international level and has acted in such movies like Mirror Boy, Ije, Tango With Me and the internationally acclaimed half of a Yellow Sun, and she does not see herself lowering her standards to accept scrappy scripts all in the name of acting in Nollywood.

In a recent interview, Genevieve said:
I guess I haven’t found the right script yet. Creativity and depth are the qualities that I look out for in a script. In the beginning, the movie industry emphasized quantity but things are changing and there is an improvement in trend. I am among the people who advocate for the improvement of the industry. So said, I am constantly watching out for the kind of stories I take part in. I am in support of movies that show a great deal of professionalism and creativity. Having practised my art in international and professionally produced stories like ‘Ije’; ‘Mirror boy;’ and ‘Tango with me’, I don’t think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterise Nollywood. I have respected myself as an artiste. I think the success stems from the fact that I have given acting my all.

Remember that the Brand Ambassador for Etisalat and Amstel Malta as well as the Faced of Lux was the first Nigerian actress to be profiled on the Oprah Winfrey show where the Queen of Talk-Show called her the Julia Roberts of Africa, so she sure knows what she is talking about.

Nigerian : Acid Victim In The Uk, Naomi Oni, Starts Dating Again, Shares New Photos

Nigerian lady Naomi Oni, living in the Uk, who made headlines about two years ago, after been victim of a vicious acid attack which left her facially scarred for life has revealed she has started dating again - and that she is ready to find love after her successful surgery.
Naomi, who was attacked by her friend Mary Konye as she walked home from work, the attack left the 22-year-old's eyelids, eyebrows and some of her hair burn as she was poured acid all over.
Since then, surgeons have painstakingly rebuilt her features and it's given her a new lease on life - so much so, she has even started dating again.

While her recent relationship didn't work out, Naomi explains that she and the man in question are still friends and that the relationship really boosted her confidence.
Speaking to Closer magazine about her date, Naomi said: 'He said I was gorgeous and completely took me by surprise - he approached me in the street and said he'd read about my story and thought I was so inspirational that he wanted to take me out.
Things didn’t work out with the guy I was seeing and we’re just friends, but it’s boosted my self-esteem. I'm enjoying being single at the moment but I'm ready to fall in love again with the right person.'

Naomi also says she is glad that her former friend got a long prison term but adds that it doesn't change what happened. She told Closer: 'When I saw my face, I couldn’t stop crying. I thought, "Who’s going to want to marry me like this?" I felt so low, I didn’t want to live.' Despite her ordeal, Naomi is set on pursuing a career within the fashion and beauty industry and is enjoying single life.
She added: 'The guy I was seeing looked past my scars to the person I am inside. It made me realise the attack doesn’t have to ruin my life.

Justin Bieber ranked 33rd most powerful celebrity

TORONTO — Canadian pop star Justin Bieber squeaked into the top-third of this year’s Forbes list of the World’s Most Powerful Celebrities. The 20-year-old Ontario native ranked No. 33 with estimated earnings of $80 million.
It’s a big drop for Bieber, who was in the No. 9 spot last year.The past year for Bieber has included a DUI arrest in Miami Beach, a felony vandalism investigation in Los Angeles and an assault charge in Toronto.
The annual list is compiled using estimated gross earnings of celebrities combined with their social media reach and data on the number of times they were mentioned in media between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.
At the top of this year’s Forbes list is Beyonce Knowles, who raked in an estimated $115 million. The singer is followed by LeBron James, Dr. Dre, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
The oldest celebrity on the list is Paul McCartney, 72, who ranked No. 29 with estimated earnings of $ 71 million.
New additions to the list include actor Matthew McConaughey, actress Kerry Washington, singer Bruno Mars and UK boy band One Direction.
He is the only Canadian to make the list and the second-youngest (after Miley Cyrus at No. 17).

I just read Chrissy Teijen's interview today and I was like...wait, what? According to the model, she and her husband, John Legend, once had sex in the first class section of a commercial plane with other passengers around them. Such a turn on ..*wink* lol.

When asked the craziest place she and John have had sex, Chrissy replied;

NBA bans racist Clippers owner, Sterling, for life; fines him $2.5m

Donald Sterling, the L.A Clippers owner who was caught on tape making disgusting racist comments to his girlfriend has been banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million, which is the max fine that can be imposed under NBA rules. Under the ban, the 81 year old can't go to games, attend practices, make decisions regarding the team or attend NBA meetings.

Basketball Commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement this evening Tuesday April 29th, saying the National Basketball Association will force Sterling to sell the team, which he has owned since the 80's, to another organization.

Silver said Sterling admitted making those comments but showed no remorse. The commissioner said 'Sentiments of this kind are contrary to the principles of inclusion & respect that form the foundation of our diverse, multicultural and multi- ethnic league." Good move!!!
